Apps and Girls is a pioneering initiative based in Tanzania, dedicated to empowering girls and young women through technology, digital skills, and innovation. Our mission is to bridge the gender gap in tech and create opportunities for young women to thrive academically and professionally.
Since 2013
Our Story
Founded in 2015, Apps and Girls started as a small after-school program to teach coding to young girls. Over the years, we have grown into a national movement, reaching thousands of girls across Tanzania through our coding clubs, mentorship programs, and innovation workshops. We believe that when girls are given access to technology and mentorship, they can change their communities and shape the future of Africa’s digital economy.
