Who We Are
Empowering Girls to Shape the Future
Apps and Girls is a Tanzanian award‑winning nonprofit dedicated to reducing the gender gap in technology. Founded in 2013, we equip girls and young women from diverse backgrounds with digital skills, mentorship, and opportunities to become tech entrepreneurs, innovators, and leaders.

Our Mission
Why Our Work Matters
Women and girls are significantly underrepresented in technology across Tanzania and Sub‑Saharan Africa. By offering coding clubs, advanced ICT training, and entrepreneurship programs, we help girls gain confidence, critical thinking, and practical skills that open doors to new opportunities in education, employment, and innovation. Teaching young women tech also contributes to solving community challenges — from healthcare to sustainable solutions driven by local creativity.
What We Do
Our Programs
Our holistic approach includes weekly coding clubs, advanced training through the Jovia and GSI programs, mentorship networks, and innovation events that help girls build projects, launch ventures, and pursue tech careers.
